GARDEN AND PLANTING DESIGN

Blooming Botany offers a complete garden and planting design service for gardens across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire that have lost their structure, purpose, or connection to place. This is particularly suited to historic properties, mature gardens, or sites affected by change, where overgrown planting or recent building work has compromised the original character.

A full review allows the garden to be re-established in response to the site’s history, setting, and architecture. Working from a clean slate makes it possible to resolve long-standing problems, restore coherence, and create planting that feels appropriate, enduring, and rooted in locality.

Clients receive a carefully considered, bespoke design that balances heritage, functionality, and sustainability, delivering a garden with clarity, integrity, and long-term value.

The Design Process:

Every garden or planting design project begins with an on-site consultation, where we discuss your garden, your needs, and how the space should work for you. Once appointed, a detailed site survey is undertaken, with specialist third-party surveys commissioned where required to ensure accuracy and long-term success.

The design process is collaborative and entirely bespoke. Your input is central, ensuring the final garden reflects your lifestyle, preferences, and the character of the site, while delivering a design that is both functional and inspiring.

Once the outline design is agreed, I will prepare detailed construction drawings, planting plans, and support the appointment of a suitable contractor to deliver the project with clarity and confidence.

When the garden implementation is complete and handed over to you, we can continue to work together through Garden Mentoring, where I can help you with the management of the new space with a soft handover.

Blooming Botany works with clients across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire, delivering garden and planting design for both small and large-scale sites. Recent projects and progress can be viewed via our social media channels.

"I love gardens but I really didn’t know where to start with our mature cottage garden. I knew I wanted to replace all the prickly and spiky shrubs and build up the borders but that was about it! Thanks to Ali we now have a really beautiful planting plan that we will be putting into action with her help next Spring. Ali is a great listener and hugely knowledgeable. She is patient and creative, and her attention to detail is second to none. I would recommend her to anyone who needs some gardening inspiration."
